Book Review - My School Backpack

About the Book
Noted children’s illustrator Richard Scarry’s distinctive color illustrations introduce preschoolers to basic learning concepts in this attractive set of four Busytown board books:

  • I Know My Shapes
  • I Know My Colors
  • I Know My Opposites
  • I Know My Numbers
The books have six bright and busy scenes on two page spreads, each scene filled with Richard Scarry’s famous Busytown animals doing all kinds of silly things that will make toddlers giggle. Each book has a trim size of 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", and all four books fit in a colorful illustrated box which closes snugly with help from a Velcro tab. (Ages 2–5)

About The Author
Richard Scarry, the renowned author and illustrator of many beloved children’s books, was best known for his series about Busytown, where animals who act very much like people engage in all sorts of work activities. Many of Busytown’s favorite characters appear in My School Backpack, to teach basic learning concepts to preschoolers.

My Take on the Books
My daughter loves busytown and all of the characters within it! This collection of books not only brings together all of these characters, but it does so in a way that truly educates the child as well. My youngest had a blast matching the colors, numbers, shapes and opposites and by the end she was asking me to read them yet again. This is a great gift set for any pre-school child that both educates and entertains!
